"Kill 'Em All" es el primer álbum de la discografía de Metallica, la banda estadounidense de heavy metal, publicado el 25 de julio de 1983 a través del sello independiente Megaforce Records. Metallica comenzó tocando en shows en clubes locales en Los Ángeles. Grabaron varias maquetas para llamar la atención de los propietarios de los clubes y finalmente se mudaron a San Francisco para asegurarse los servicios del bajista Cliff Burton. Una de esas maquetas, "No Life 'til Leather" (1982) llegó a manos del director del sello Megaforce, Jon Zazula, quien les ofreció firmar un contrato con un presupuesto de 15.000 dólares para la grabación.

El álbum fue grabado en mayo con el productor Paul Curcio en los Music America Studios en Rochester, Nueva York. La idea original fue la de titular el disco como "Metal Up Your Ass", con una portada que mostraba una mano sujetando una daga que emergía de la taza del inodoro. Se le pidió a la banda que cambiara el nombre porque los distribuidores temían que lanzar un álbum con un título y una obra de arte tan ofensivos disminuiría sus posibilidades de éxito comercial.

Metallica promocionó el álbum con un gira titulada "Kill 'Em All for One" durante dos meses, en la que actuaron junto a la banda inglesa de heavy metal Raven en Estados Unidos. Se extrajeron dos sencillos de este álbum debut de Metallica, los titulados "Whiplash" (8 de agosto de 1983) y "Jump in the Fire" (20 de enero de 1984).

El álbum vendió más de 60.000 copias en todo el mundo tras finalizar la gira europea de Metallica, "Seven Dates of Hell", en 1984. El álbum no entró en el Billboard 200 hasta 1986, cuando alcanzó el puesto 155, después de que la banda obtuviera un notable éxito con su tercer álbum, "Master of Puppets". "Kill 'Em All" fue elogiado por la crítica en el momento de su lanzamiento y desde entonces ha sido considerado como un álbum pionero de thrash metal, debido a la fusión de la nueva ola de riffs de heavy metal británico con tempos hardcore punk. También se colocó retrospectivamente en las listas de mejores álbumes de algunas publicaciones. El enfoque musical y la letra del álbum eran marcadamente diferentes de la corriente principal del rock de principios de la década de 1980 e inspiraron a varias bandas que siguieron de manera similar. A finales de 1999 se habían vendido ya tres millones de copias del álbum.
