True Blue es el tercer álbum de estudio publicado por Madonna. El álbum aparecio el 30 de junio de 1986 y fue producido por la propia Madonna, en colaboración con Stephen Bray y Patrick Leonard. Además, Madonna fue la co-autora de todos los temas del álbum.
True Blue alcanzó el primer puesto en las litas de éxitos de 28 países, hecho que el valió a la cantante norteamericana aparecer en el Libro Guinnes de los records, como el Album Femenino más vendido, con unas ventas que superaron los 7 millones de copias solamente en Estados Unidos (25 millones en todo el mundo).
En "True Blue", Madonna abandona su imagen inmadura para tomar un aspecto en el que se muestra mucho más segura de sí misma. Además, la grabación de True Blue coincidió con su primer año de matrimonio con el actor Sean Penn, motivo por el cual la cantante le hizo una dedicatoria especial. Los temas del álbum son reflexivos y están relacionados con su propia experiencia vital, manteniendo su carácter de chica sexy y provocativa.
