"A Rush of Blood to the Head" es el título segundo álbum de la banda británica Coldplay. Fue publicado el 26 de agosto de 2002 por el sello Parlophone en Reino Unido y un día más tarde en Estados Unidos por Capitol Records. Autoproducido por la banda, junto al productor británico Ken Nelson, este trabajo de Coldplay hace un mayor uso de la guitarra que en su anterior álbum, "Parachutes".

"A Rush of Blood to the Head" vino a continuación del éxito cosechado por la banda con su debut titulado "Parachutes" (2010), con el que ganaron el premio Grammy al Mejor Álbum de Música Alternativa en 2002 y el premio al Álbum Británico del Año en los Brit Awards de 2001, entre otros muchos reconocimientos.

Con su segundo álbum, Coldplay se aupó al primer puesto de las listas de ventas en Reino Unido en su estreno en las tiendas y a la postre se convertiría en el octavo álbum más vendido en Reino Unido en lo que va de siglo XXI.

Coldplay consiguió vender más de tres millones de copias, sólo en Reino Unido. A nivel mundial, se calcula que "A Rush of Blood to the Head" ha vendido más de 17 millones de copias.

Algunos de los sencillos incluidos en el álbum son "In My Place", "The Scientist" y "Clocks".

"A Rush of Blood to the Head" le brindó a Coldplay tres premios Grammy, como Mejor Álbum Alternativo y Mejor Interpretación Rock (con la canción "In My Place") en 2003 y el Grammy a la Mejor Grabación del Año (con el tema "Clocks") en 2004.
